The St. John Maximovitch Secondary School is one of our newest mission endeavours to be undertaken by Orthodox Africa. This Orthodox Christian secondary school is for children from ages 3 to 11. The goal of St. John's Secondary School is to establish a solid Orthodox educational foundation for every child that attends. Here the children learn to read, write, do arithmetic, as well as, learn self-discipline, time-management and to work hard toward their life goals. Most importantly, the children of the school are also instructed in the doctrine and theology of the Holy Orthodox Christian Church so that they have a well-rounded spiritual and academic learning experience during their most critical years of learning. The school has taken Saint John Maximovitch the Wonderworker as its holy patron. During the lifetime of Saint John, he knew the struggle of pain and heartache and through it all; he was a man of prayer, who united people, cared for the orphans and loved children. All of the qualities that we are trying to instil in each of our Orthodox Christian students. As we seek to emulate him in our daily lives; we ask both Holy Saint John and you, our readers, for your continual remembrance and prayers. Amen.
